Temperature measurements are strictly necessary for the steelmaker and can be done precisely and rapidly with the range of SPEMITEMP thermocouple probes :
- SPEMITEMP type S (couple PtRh10%-Pt)*
for a temperature range from 1100 to 1750°C
- SPEMITEMP type R (couple PtRh13%-Pt)*
for a temperature range from 1100 to 1750°C
- SPEMITEMP type B (couple PtRh30%-PtRh6%)*
for a temperature range from 1100 to 1820°C
* The calibration of the thermocouples meets the standard EITP90,
alternatively they can be supplied according to the standard EIPT48

SPEMITEMP

|
The tip of the SPEMITEMP probe is equipped with a device for connection to standard pyrometric lances. The measuring head consists of a steel or aluminium cap for protection from slag, a thermocouple enclosed in a quartz tube, surrounded by a ceramic sleeve sealed with cement having the required dielectric characteristics.
|
With the SPEMOX probe, the oxygen activity in the molten metal is performed in less then 10 secondes enabling to monitor the refinement and to control the adjustment of the desired steel specification during the deoxidization process.
Steelmakers find the following applications :
- adjustment of deoxidization and the residual aluminium killed and semi-killed steel
- control over the rimming of steel cast in ingot molds
- estimation of carbon in metal produced in both the basic oxygen furnace and the electric arc furnace
The oxygen activity measured by the SPEMOX probe, composed of a thermocouple and an electrochemical cell, is evaluated by an instrument using Nernst's thermodynamic formula.

SPEMOX
 |
SPEMITEMP and SPEMOX probes can be fitted with a sleeve made of anti-splash fibers for the applications needing a protection of the operator.
The different length of the cardboard tube fitting the measuring head, the range of thermocouples and the different measurement lances supplied by SOLED make a large range of products adapted to the different possible applications.
These products can be used as well with manual as automatic measurement lances.
